Looking to make the switch to LED lights? Not sure where to start or why; well, we are here to help! If you are a business or homeowner looking to light your home or office without the worry of light bulb burn out or overheating, it might be time to make the jump to LEDs, but you must know the basics:

What Are LEDs

LEDs or light emitting diodes are 90% more efficient than incandescent light bulbs. They are an excellent way to save on your energy bill and work by a micro current that passes through a micro trip and illuminates the small light source providing us with light. They are also highly durable make them pretty hard to break.

Their Lifespan

You might be accustomed to light bulbs burning out or failing, well LEDs are different; they experience ‘lumen depreciation.’ The bulbs will slowly dim over time, so the lifetime is based on this. The actual life of an LED is when the bulbs output decreases by 30 percent.

How are They Different

LEDs are known to be versatile, durable and efficient. They are known as directional lights, and unlike other options, they only emit light in a particular direction; making them one of the most energy efficient choices. Because light is designated to a specific location, you’ll want to have a plan for even lighting.

No Heat Here

LED lights are built to never overheat or burn out; they do this by using heat sinks that absorb the heat and dissipate it to its surroundings. Thermal protection is also a big factor in that, the higher the temperature, the quicker the light will degrade decreasing its lifespan.
