Your Holiday Lights Safety Guide

The holiday season is here and if you haven’t done so already, it’s time to put the holiday lights up. If this will be your first holiday season hanging lights or you had some issues this season hanging them, you’ll want to check out these helpful tips below.

Think of a Design

It is imperative that you come up with a design beforehand. Think of what you want your home to look like. You may want to put lights on pillars, posts, windows, and doors. It is a good idea to take measurements of the areas you want to light.

Inspect the Lights

Before you hang the lights, be sure to inspect them. If you notice that lights are damaged or cords are frayed, refrain from using them. You should only use lights that are in good working condition and intended for outdoor use.

Be Safe

The most important thing you can do while hanging holiday lights is to be safe. You can do this by working alongside someone else. In addition, do not decorate trees on your property that come into contact with power lines.
